What I learned from...
"...artists use lies to tell the truth, while politicians use them to cover the truth up."

During a difficult time in my childhood, I learned to seek comfort in escaping reality through stories. Most of these stories were in the form of movies and television, later in life books. Throughout my, so far forty plus years on this third rock from the sun, I developed a coping mechanism to seek escape through fiction; and through this escape I learned more about integrity, honor, love, empathy, compassion, hate, vengeance, vindication, and so on, than I ever learned from those directly and indirectly responsible for teaching me.
Here you will find a list of essays where I share the lessons I learned. Sometimes people have the luxury of 'real world' experiences, as they may say. Sometimes we don't. As the good Doctor once said, "We are all stories in the end, just make it a good one, eh?"
